YPCS provides evidence-based speech and language services to children and adults in our community.

We offer comprehensive assessments and individualized treatment programs to meet the unique needs of each client.

Our Speech-Language Pathologist team provides a variety of developmental and rehabilitation services including:

• Language(Grammar/Vocabulary/Story-Telling/Social Communication): Receptive(comprehensive), Expressive(production), Pragmatics
• Speech(Pronunciation): Articulation/Phonological Disorders, Motor Speech Disorder
• Fluency: Stuttering/Cluttering
• Literacy: Phonological awareness skills, Reading, Writing
• Alternative & Augmentative Communication
• Early Intervention + Parent Coaching: Play-based Parent Coaching
• Autism Spectrum Disorders Services
• Stroke Recovery: Acquired Apraxia of Speech, Aphasia, Cognitive-Communication Disorders
• Traumatic Brain Injury(TBI) Rehabilitation
• Neurological Diseases: Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis(MS), Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis(ALS), Guillain-Barré Syndrome, Alzheimer's Dementia, Mild Cognitive Impairment(MCI)

ASSESSMENT

The first step to effective intervention is a thorough assessment of speech, language, and communication skills. Our assessments cover speech sound production, language comprehension and expression, and oral mechanism examination (as needed). From there, we develop personalized treatment plans to target specific areas of need.

TREATMENT

We believe in empowering our clients to achieve their communication goals in contexts important to them. That's why we provide home practice/programmes and education to ensure progress outside of therapy sessions. Our services prioritize and encourage the involvement of parents and caregivers in therapy sessions.

COLLABORATION

Continuity of care is important to us. Collaborating closely with healthcare professionals, we adopt a team approach to ensure holistic care for our clients. We offer consultation to other professionals involved in a client's care. By working together, we can maximize the effectiveness of our interventions and help our clients reach their full potential. If a client's needs extend beyond our scope, we readily refer them to another specialist with clients’ and their families’ consent.
